What is Bubble Wrap?
Bubble wrap is a flexible sheet of plastic with air-filled bubbles protruding from its surface. The sheet is used to pack fragile goods such as glass; clay and ceramics to protect them from damage during storage or transit. Available in various sizes and thickness, its main objective is to provide vibration- and shock isolation, thereby protecting the load from breakage.
Omni offers a wide range of bubble wrapping films categorized into various grades according to usage. Their strength varies from regular to heavy-duty. Each type comes with a proven ability to withstand external impact to prevent any loss or damage to the product.
General Purpose Bubble Wrap
General Purpose Grade Bubble provides an effective and economical packaging solution for wrapping products and protecting them from damage. The wrap rolls can be easily slit to width as per your convenience. General Wrap comes in two categories—regular and heavy-duty, available in 10mm and 20mm thickness respectively. While the former is suitable for general household transportation, the latter is appropriate for packaging fragile products for professional shipments, relocation and storage in the warehouse.
Grades:
- Single Layer = Regular Grade
- Double Layer = Heavy Duty

Omni also offers ‘handy wrap’ bubble wrap dispenser boxes designed to be used in home, office and warehouse environments. It enables users to pull out the amount of sheets necessary, leading to trouble-free storage without creating a mess.

Bubble wrap rolls can be custom slit to any width and perforated to any length. We can customize our bubble products to suit every application. Bubble wrapping film can be custom made into tubing, sheets or bags. With custom printed and coloured bubble wrap also available, the options are endless.

Metalised Foil Bubble Wrap, also known as ‘foil insulation bubble wrap’, refers to bubble wrap sheets laminated with foil to enable temperature-controlled packaging. Its thermal quality regulates the temperature of the products inside and protects sensitive goods from damage. This lightweight, moisture-resistant wrap is used for packaging exotic food items, documents, paintings, etc.

Kraft Paper Backed Bubble Wrap
As the name suggests, Kraft Backed Bubble is covered with strong kraft paper designed chiefly for packaging wooden furniture and other heavy household items. Used mainly by furniture manufacturers and removalists, Kraft Backed Bubble is designed to be tough and has the ability to withstand the rigours of transportation and shipment. This wrap is also useful for protecting floor surfaces from scratches caused by the movement of heavy furniture.

Foam Backed Bubble Wrap
For those looking for extra protection for their goods, Foam Backed Bubble is a great choice. Laminated with foam on one side, the roll is designed to provide an extra cushion for delicate items that require special care during transportation. Suitable for fragile items, this 0.5 mm-thick foamed bubble wrap sheet not only protects goods from breakage but also doesn’t sweat like plastic, thus keeping the surface spotless.

Anti Static Bubble Wrap
Specially designed for electrical items, Omni’s Anti Static Bubble Wrap is a great option for packaging heavy machinery and electrical parts. Packaging electrical goods can be challenging since friction during transportation can cause fire and/or give static shock from regular plastic wrap. Anti-Static Wrap protects electrical items from static build-up and keeps the items safe. The sheets are pink in colour to make them easy for people to identify.

Protecta Soft Protective Bubble Wrap
Used for packaging furniture, Protecta Soft Bubble Wrap is laminated with a premium quality bubble on one end. It is widely used for covering furniture kept in storage for extended periods of time. Many warehouses and furniture companies use this product for their long-term packaging requirements. The soft wrap roll also prevents sweating, thus ensuring a clean furniture surface.

Bubble Tubing
Omni’s Bubble Wrap Tubing rolls have been specially crafted for items that are lengthy in size and hence difficult to wrap. The unique protective bubble wrap gives complete protection to the items, making their transportation easier. The bubble tube rolls are available in 10mm and 20mm layers and their custom-sizing makes them convenient for use in a wide range of products.
Bubble Bags
Our Bubble Bags provide a cost-effective, labour-saving protective packaging solution. Bubble wrap bags are available in a variety of sizes and can also be custom-made to order. These bags can be made with an adhesive closure flap for a secure seal. These bubble padded bags are most commonly made with 10mm and 20mm bubbles.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is bubble wrap recyclable?
Yes, most standard bubble wrap is made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE, plastic code 4), which is recyclable. However, it is a soft plastic, so most Australian councils do not accept it in kerbside recycling bins. Check with your local council or a soft plastic drop-off point in your area before recycling it. Bubble wrap is also durable enough to be reused several times for storage and shipping. If sustainability is a priority, Omni's biodegradable bubble wrapoffers the same cushioning protection with a lower environmental impact.
Where to buy bubble wrap?
You can buy bubble wrap online directly from Omni Packaging. Our range covers general purpose rolls in single and double layer grades, handy wrap dispenser boxes, bubble bags, bubble tubing and speciality wraps such as metalised foil, kraft paper backed, foam backed and anti static bubble wrap. Buying from a packaging supplier gives you access to bulk rolls, heavy duty grades and custom slit widths that are rarely available from general retail stores.
How to use bubble wrap?
To use bubble wrap effectively, follow these steps:
1. Choose the right grade: 10mm single layer bubble wrap suits small and light items, while 20mm double layer heavy duty bubble wrap is better for larger, heavier or more fragile goods.
2. Place the item on the bubble wrap with the bubble side facing the item, so the air pockets absorb shock and vibration.
3. Wrap the item completely, adding extra layers around corners, edges and any protruding parts.
4. Secure the wrap with packaging tape, making sure the tape does not touch delicate surfaces directly.
5. Place the wrapped item in a sturdy box and fill any empty space with extra bubble wrap or void fill so it cannot move during transit.
