Cleaner & Primers for Double Sided UHB Tape
To achieve the perfect bond, surface preparation is a must when applying Ultra High Bond Double Sided UHB Tape. The Silver Clean and Primers 33 and 101 will help you reach this by offering excellent cleaning and priming characteristics.
Silver Clean for UHB Foam Tape
The Omni Silver Clean is an isopropanol /alcohol mixture (IPA). This cleaner has excellent de-greasing capabilities and is, due to its volatile nature, extremely suitable for time-critical applications which many of our customers use. The Silver Clean is suitable for light to medium contaminated materials. Grease, dust, oils, etc. are easily removed by this cleaner. In case of high contamination levels, Omni advises a more aggressive cleaner like MEK, Heptan, or Acetone. The principles of door production are basically the same; a panel (composite, wood, plastic, etc.,) is bonded to a steel or aluminum frame.
Silver Clean Pre-drenched IPA Cleaner Towels
No more bottles of cleaner, no more spills, easy to use, and less waste – some of the advantages of the new Silver Clean pre-drenched towels. The mixture of 96% Isopropyl Alcohol and 4% Deionized Water ensures the level of cleaning needed for the use of the Ultra High Bond Tapes. The standard packages contain 100 towels. The polyester cellulose non-woven towels are 153mm x 216mm in size and are absolutely lint-free to prevent contamination of your bonding surface.
Primer 101UV and 201 – Applying Double Sided UHB Tape to Glass
To complete the range of Primers, we now offer Primer 101UV, which is the standard 101 primer with a UV tracer to check the use of primer in the production process. Besides this, we also offer Primer 201, a silane primer, especially for the bonding of UHB tape to glass. Because of the hydrophilic characteristics of glass, the microscopic pores of the glass are filled with this primer to effectuate the best substrate for bonding.
Primers 33 & 101 – Applying Double Sided Foam Bonding Tape to Panels
Primers are designed to work in conjunction with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive systems. When used correctly, adhesion promoters become a thin film on the surface of the material on which the UHB Tape is applied. The film anchors itself onto the material surface. The surface energy of this film is typically higher than the material to which the adhesion promoter is applied. The higher the surface energy level, the better the bond of the pressure-sensitive adhesive. The adhesion promoters are compatible with this double-sided ultra high bond tape.
With the use of UHB Tape, these noises are minimized or eliminated altogether. Besides this, you can imagine that aesthetics are very important to these manufacturers as well. Applications in this industry are floor, wall, and ceiling panels as well as the lighting and instrument panels.
